To Many or Not Enough?

Some of the best recipes I use are found in these magazines.
I also love her food photography.
So yummy to look at.

Never Enough,

as spooky as i can get

My dad was throwing away this tin.
When I told him I wanted it, he just laughed at me.
I knew I would find a use for it.
I can't stand to throw tin away.
 I just love it.
For some reason,
my Dad has decided that he needs to clean up the junk at his ranch.
He brings loads and loads of stuff down to take to the junk people.
When I saw what he was doing, I just about had a heart attack.
I told him to STOP it.
I even made him pull a few items off of the trailer,
 which was no easy task.

This barrel belonged to my Dad.
The branches were used in the centerpieces at my daughter's wedding.
I bought the black bird's at Michael's.
I wish I had bought more.
When I went back to buy more, they were out.

This frame is waiting for a picture of my daughter from her wedding.
So I added a paper crow.
Love it....

Another idea stolen from Martha.
Only she put the hands in punch.

You can't tell from this picture,
but the urns were filled with dry ice which formed ice crystals on the outside of the urns.
I loved the look of the ice on the outside of the urns.
It gave the table a creepy element.

My jello face.

Homemade caramel corn.

Store bought cupcakes.
I had to draw the line some where.
 Sheesh!

Ali with Bella and Edward.

Ali with her prom queen cousin and her kitty cat best friend
who looks as if she has horns coming out of her head.
Ali went as "Sandy"
from "Grease".
I think she was way "hotter" then Sandy.

Little Miss Super Hero!
Who fell asleep before the party even started and woke up when the
party ended at midnight.

This party was soooo much fun and soooo much work.

My favorite thing of the night was the jello face I made.
I found the recipe in a Martha Stewart magazine.
Her recipe called for wine. I substituted the wine with "Pom" pomegranite juice.
The jello face was my creation.
I have seen her do this with juice for punch and I thought,
"Why not jello?"
I used blackberries for his collar.
Nobody wanted to eat the face.

A big THANK YOU to my sister
for taking pictures and to my
brother and his family for the fog machine.
I love you guys... your the best!

Spooked out,
Petie

the spookiness has started

This post is for my niece.
You know who you are.
I started hanging the black crepe paper in my windows.
I really like the effect.
I am planning on covering the furniture with white sheets and using black lights for this room.
I don't know if this happens to you,
but when I start decorating,  my mind starts whirling around
with things I can do and create and then I end up making about a gajillion trips to town.
I don't want to do that this year.
This is suppose to be a simple party.
Okay, so tell my mind that.
And my go-to-guy will be out of town.
I hate it when he does that.

Trying to wrap
 my head around simple,

still here

Hopefully, the computer issues that my computer was having is fixed.
This is the third time that I have had to start all over again, from scratch.
I have a love/hate relationship with the computer.
It drives me crazy........

I am letting my daughter have a Halloween party this weekend.
I have been busy making my house "spooky" in a Martha Stewart kind of way.
I know I have mentioned this before, but I really miss the old Martha.
Did you see her Halloween special this year?  Gag me.  It was terrible.

Missing old Martha,

not a good thing

 Last week,
I decided to be crafty and paint one of
my orange pumpkins.
I used a sample paint that I bought from Restoration Hardware.
The color was called, Atmosphere Blue.

I call it "spooky blue".

I used black craft paint to paint the letters
 and placed the pumpkin
on my front porch table with other
"spooky"
 Halloween things.
When I opened my front door this morning, this is what I found:

A mess!!!!!!!

Who knew that pumpkins needed to breath?

On a better note,
my garland, that I made out of old t-shirts,
is still hanging.

So much for being crafty,

halloween photography

I am such an amateur when it comes to photography.
I read the tutorials and I still don't get it.
I am definitely a "hands on" type of girl.
But anyways,
I was playing with the photoshop on my computer,
not really photoshop,
but I don't know what else to call it.  I am sure it has a name,
but I don't know what it is.  It just came with the computer.
Back to playing with the fake photoshop,
I snapped this picture of one of my pumpkins and it was pretty much
your standard orange pumpkin picture.
A little click here and a little click there and
this is what I came up with.
I thought it was kind of cool in my "I am definitely not a photographer kind of way" cool.
What do you think?

christmas wish list number 1

This will be my first christmas list of many lists.
I love the pearl earrings above, they come from the beautiful,
I love the way they look on the old gold and white china.
I already have a pair of pearls that I wear almost everyday,
but I could always use another pair.
 This ring is from
I love how the stone sparkles.
Hint, hint,
I realllllyyyy want this.
I much prefer silver to gold,
but lately I have been attracted to gold.
I recently purchased a really cute gold neclace with charms from
the store Francesca in Phoenix
and this bracelet would be perfect with it.
You can find this in
 Okay,
I am a sucker for anything pink.
Love, Love, Love,
these earrings.
Except, my hubby hates dangly earrings on me.
These are from
I would definitely wear this with the above earrings.
You can find this necklace at
I think it would be absolutely lovely, worn
with a crisp white blouse for Christmas.
If nobody buys this for me,
I will be buying this for myself.
It might already be on its way to my house.

Shhh, don't tell my family.  I get in so much
trouble for shopping before Christmas...
something about, I am always buying for myself and
there is nothing left to buy me.
Oh well,
maybe they can buy something off of my next Christmas list,
the Kitchen Christmas list.
A girl always needs more kitchen stuff.

Happy Shopping,
Petie
