Happy Birthday to Me

As I was walking out the door this morning,
I found a bag sitting at my front door.
This is what was inside.
Thank you Anna!
Anna is my niece by marriage.
She also writes over at Life Be Delicious.
What a wonderful family I have been blessed with.

I opened it a little early...Oops!

I love Rustic

Perfect for Christmas tree decorations or for giving
to friends and family for gifts.
They describe them as, "pretty, but rustic".
Anything with the word "RUSTIC"
grabs my attention.
I am all about the "RUSTIC".
I'm a little late in the game to be making these this year,
but will definitely be making these next year.
I love how they aren't perfect.

Be sure and check out the blog.
I think you will be amused at the writings and be inspired to make some of the recipes.

These cookies are so me.
Pretty, but rustic.
(Oh, and you might as well throw in frumpy. I'm a little frumpy too.)

Rockin' the Vintage Christmas Dresses

I love the deep cherry red in the two vintage dresses above
the green vintage dress is so classy and 50ish.

What to wear? What to wear?
I am always last minute when it comes to picking out
something special to wear.
I better get busy.

I was to lazy to translate the pages to English.
But I thought the category,
dies and dat
was cute.

Christmas Fun from Toast

Some more flipping thru blogland led me to this wonderful
site called Toast.  Above are their Chocolate flakes
for drinking.  The description said, " rich and delicious drinking
chocolate suitable for vegetarians".  Doesn't that just make you laugh?
I couldn't stop laughing.
It comes in dark chocolate and white chocolate.
I loved the packaging.

These are their cowbell tree ornaments and miniture cowbell garland.
I want these so bad.  But I would have to change my whole
Christmas colors to copper and then I would have to paint
my walls white, etc.  You get the picture.
They come in a really cute box covered in recycled newspaper.
This company gets two thumbs up for being so politically correct
with their chose of words.  I call them "feel good words".

A knitted stocking to hang from your bedpost or mantel or
wherever you hang your stocking. Are you ready for this?
100% Organic Wool.
I kid you not.
That is in the description.
The last time I checked, all wool is 100% Organic.
But again, a feel good word.
If I changed my Christmas color scheme,
I would definitely be buying these hearts and round glass baubles.
Don't you just love the word, bauble?
bauble, bauble, bauble.

Not only do I want the "delicate handmade paper bunting",
but I want that wall, leather chair, and wood floor.
See what happens when I change my color scheme?

And of course, I would have to build a fireplace in my home to display
the votive lights that they sell.  See the brick in the background?
I think I will be incorporating them in my kitchen.  I know, they are
fireplace bricks.  But they would look so incredible behind my stove
 along the wall.

A Martha Stewart Christmas

This flowering tower of presents is wrapped in paper that
was photo-copied from fabric.
Of Course,
who else but Martha Stewart to be so clever.

I thought this was a cute and easy way to wrap
your gifts. If you visit Martha's site
she has a tutorial on how to do the felt leaves.

1,2, and 3 pics are all from

Aren't these cookies dreamy?
I love pecan puffs.
What am I thinking?
I love all the Christmas cookies.

While sipping my hot coco and flipping thru Blogland,
I came across  this cuddly wool bag and throw.
What can I say...I'm a sheepherder's daughter.
Loving the wool bag and throw.

I just love flipping,

Flipping thru Blogland

No new Christmas magazines to flip thru this year, just Blog land.
Some how,
I stumbled upon this site, John Lewis.
Its a cross between a Michael's and a Nordstrom's all wrapped up in one store.
Still trying to figure it out.

Happy flipping,

All I Want for Christmas is A ...

I was watching Martha the other day and she made this incredible pancake on her show.
The recipe is a  NY Times old recipe.
I couldn't wait to try it this morning.
I am in LOVE...

Click on the link above for the recipe.
We tried it with the lemon juice and powdered sugar.
It was heavenly!

here is a link to an article about the pancake.

A Mock Thanksgiving Table

If I was hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year,
this is what my table would look like.

I found the garland at, Walmart for a dollar.
The vases with the apples were bought to use at my daughter's wedding this past summer.
We ended up not using them.
They were to fragile for the candy bar.

The salt and pepper shakers were an antique find many years ago.
The little clay pots were purchased from my favorite store in Phoenix, Sage.
And the dishes are some of my favorite thrift store finds.
Do you recognize the glasses?
Martha Stewart.
She sold these at Kmart, before she up and left to go to Macy's.
Martha should really call me for some business advice.
I don't think Macy's was a good move.

We will be traveling to my daughter's home in the southern part of the state for
Thanksgiving this year.

To all of you out in blog land,
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

A little bit nippy this morning, so I pulled out the Uggs.
I know.
These are so not cool anymore.
But I love mine.

Proper attire for taking your daughter to school.
Pajames, frumpy sweater, and Uggs.
Minus a bra.
I always forget the bra.

Have a great Weekend!
