breakfast muffins

I know. I know.
The title says muffins and I have a picture of a cookie.
The recipe below is for the muffins that I
posted about on Monday.
You can also make these in cookie form.
I found this recipe in google images and did not save the info.
If you make these,
try and remember that they are HEALTHY for you.
They will probably taste a little different than what you are use to,
but they grow on you.
Breakfast Muffins/Cookies
3 mashed bananas
1/3 cup apple sauce
1/2 cup nuts
2 cups uncooked quick cooking oats
1/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup dried fruit
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1 T brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl really well.
Let this mixture stand for at least 5 minutes to let the oats become good and
hydrated. Heap the dough by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet or
spoon the dough into a muffin pan.
Bake for 15-20 minutes and let cool.
I also make a peanut butter smoothie
that is delicious and HEALTHY for you.
In a blender,
add ice, skim milk, peanut butter, frozen banana (peeled) and a little splenda.
Mix well.
You can also add some protein powder to this smoothie and it
will stay with you until lunch.
Happy Cooking,

breakfast monday

(google image)
Yummy, breakfast muffins.
Soooo easy to make and healthy for you.
( I will post the recipe this week)

Something I would probably save for the weekend, but could
eat every day of the week.

(country living)
Farmers breakfast.
I love, love, love eggs and bacon. Real bacon, not that fake bacon.
Fake bacon is for wimps.

(martha stewart)
Candy Coffee.
Strong coffee, cream and sugar.
Do I need to say anything else?

(miss wall flower tumbler)
Now, how did this get in the breakfast category?
Well, I have had one or two with a good cup of coffee.

Happy Monday,

I thought this was a cute video to share with all of you.

I loved the message that they were singing about.

The photography, well you can decide for yourself.

Have a great weekend!

i'm back......

My chauffeur and I took a quick trip to the East side of Texas.
I've decided I do not want to live there.
Are you ready for this?
Too many trees...
Yep, I am an Arizona girl thru and thru...
I need the open country.
The trees grow like weeds in that part of the state. I much prefer
the area around Austin, Fredicksburg (love, love, love Fredricksburg) and
my favorite town in Texas,
Now that is a town I could live in.
Really laid back, and I could have my white house with a
white picket fence
(okay, back to reality)

I do love the heritage behind Texas.
And did I mention, I love the panhandle.
I could live there too.
This is just a random pic of a flag from Texas. But when I saw it,
it spoke volumes to me.
I guess that is why they call it the lonestar state.
On our last day there,
I made my chauffeur stop at a peach stand.
As I was carrying the box of peaches back to the truck,
I heard my chauffeur mumble something about
"a whole box!"
They made the best peach pies.

it's a good thing

I am in love with JCrew flip flops.
You can't beat the price of flip flops from Old Navy, but
once you try on a pair of flip flops from JCrew,
you will never wear any other kind.
If shoes were cars,
these would be the cadillac of flip flops
(do they even make cadillac's anymore?)
Check out their website
for flip flops to die for.
It's a good thing!

red, white and blue tuesday

Sorry, my color post is usually on Monday,
but my daughter invited us to
the river for a fun day on the boat. I love boating.
I love the water, the sun, the wind, and I have always
loved how friendly everybody is on the water.
Growing up my best friend's parents had boats, so I was
always going to the lake or the river.
Most people from Arizona would rather be
in the piney woods for the summer,
but not this native, I love the water.
Be it the beach, lake, river or
a backyard swimming pool, I would rather
be near the water.
On a side note,
I loved reading all my favorite blogs
and how they spent their 4th of July.
It seems that family is where its at
when it comes time to celebrate
our country's Independence Day.
Despite what is going on in our country today,
its good to know where our priorities are.

Happy 4th of July!

I love Independence Day!

Grilling hot dogs, eating ice cold watermelon, swimming, family, and my favorite,

playing cards, more specifically, playing poker...
God Bless America,
