The calm before the storm

It was all hustle and bustle for a week at my home

during Christmas week

I loved every minute of it

Having grandchildren around during this festive time

is absolutely wonderful...

magical, almost

 I should of had a picture of the after

but I was too tired on Christmas day

to do anything but

cook a big breakfast for everybody

and then off to take a nap...

A simple Christmas

at least that is what I am shooting for.

I made my list of "to do's" for December to put on my calendar

one word, SCARY...

there is so much to do

and I am actually starting the week of Thanksgiving

with decorating.

My daughter will be in town this weekend with the monkey's

so I will be cooking the turkey dinner on Sunday.

Married children=sharing Holidays

So with turkey dinner out of the way,

I don't feel so bad about decorating next week.

I have a few new things I want to create this year,

but for the most part,

it will be pretty much the same as last year.

I can't believe the Holiday's are right around the corner.

I guess the saying is true,

time fly's,

when you're having fun...

I don't  journal,

but I do have a lot of binders

that I have filled with projects, magazine clippings,

furniture ideas, painting ideas, etc.

I also like to make lists.

it helps me get things done

and I feel like I have accomplished something

when I check it off my list.

The peanut butter balls are new this year.

A little time consuming, but so worth it.

I cut the recipe in half and I am so glad I did.

Can you imagine doing three more trays of those little suckers?

Just thought I would throw in some very unprofessional pictures

Now you know why 

I scour the internet looking for pics for the blog.

one...I own a point and shoot and that's about all I know about taking pictures.

two-anything on a camera besides where you click to take the picture 

scares the h*** out of me.

And

last but not least,

is the random groceries my Dad dropped off this week.

The grapes were really good.

So was the bread.

I have yet to eat the ONE avocado or the

winter? corn.

Its one of my favorite parts of the day when you bring me groceries.

Shopping for my Hubby

Finding the perfect gift for my hubby is never easy.

he wants me to buy him stuff for the great outdoors.

I love Christmas morning.

Lounging around in pajamas all day,

eating the french toast that you made the night before

to stick in the oven in the morning, 

so that you could enjoy the morning with your family.

Picking up all the trash from the opened gifts,

kids yelling at each other,

wondering where all this new stuff is going to go,

looking at the dried up Christmas tree and

thinking, 

more like panicking,

that tree is out of here, TODAY...

So much for loving Christmas morning.

But I do love the pajamas above.
