Two Seesters Cafe

Me and my Seester
and
Mr. "I can do anything" leaning on the trailer.

Ali and Lilly
In the background.

We've decided, that Ali is going into broadcasting.
She did an amazing job announcing.
What a voice.

My sister and I
had a food booth at our daughter's
High School FFA show day.

Kids from all over the state
bring their animals to show and win awards.
The show provides valuable showing experience
before they do the real deal at
their county fair.

Our booth
was a huge success.
We sold everything we brought.
As long as you aren't counting
the 500 chocolate chip cookies my sister told me to make
or the 5 sheets of
Texas sheet cake my sister made.
(just kidding)
We will be cutting back on the cookies and cake next year.

A big THANK YOU to my hubby,
who always saves the day.
Where would I be without him?
and
to my sister,
I had a ton of fun doing this with her.

All this fun has me looking for a food truck.
If you see one for sale,
let me know.

homemade red sauce

There is nothing better than the aroma of alot of this
cooking in this

adding these

and a couple of these

and a little of this

to make this

homemade red sauce

It's a Good Thing!
For pasta, pizza, or for just grabbing a bowl of the sauce
and dipping some crusty french bread in it.
We love it...
Enjoy,
Petie

political rally or a good excuse to have a party

A few weeks ago,
my brother and my favorite sister-in-law,
threw a political fund raiser. My brother
is a legendary lobbyist in the state of Arizona.
Perhaps you have seen him on tv with the
Arizona governor (who I might add, has guts and fortitude, go Jan!)
and Sarah Palin recently discussing SB1070.
No matter what your opinion is of SB1070,
the governor is taking care of the people in Arizona and securing our border.
Dammit, Mr. President, we live here legally,
and our security should be looked after.
Okay, I think I am done with that little rant.

Like I said before,
my sister-in-law is the best cook this side of the Mississippi.
Everything that she served was delicious.
These "brie stuffed mushrooms" were my favorite.
Also, the artichoke/jalapeno dip from "Costcos"
was yummy.

My niece came up with the idea for the cute
"chalkboard tags".
I think I will be stealing this idea.
She bought little pieces of wood and sprayed them
with chalkboard paint, let them dry, added the names to the
tags and displayed them among the food and drink table.

Cute and clever!

She asked me to make the dessert.
Sugar cookies are always a favorite. I also made
delicious "lemon bars", but forgot to take a picture of them.
I am not a fan of lemon bars, but this recipe sounded really good and
they turned out so tasty...
not your run of the mill lemon bars, way better.

Thanks guys! It was a really fun evening,
Petie

breakfast monday

(google image)
Muffins.
Yummy, breakfast muffins.
Soooo easy to make and healthy for you.
( I will post the recipe this week)

(weheartit)

Waffles
Something I would probably save for the weekend, but could
eat every day of the week.

(country living)
Farmers breakfast.
I love, love, love eggs and bacon. Real bacon, not that fake bacon.
Fake bacon is for wimps.

(martha stewart)
Candy Coffee.
Strong coffee, cream and sugar.
Do I need to say anything else?

(miss wall flower tumbler)
Cupcakes?
Now, how did this get in the breakfast category?
Well, I have had one or two with a good cup of coffee.

Happy Monday,
Petie

taco tuesday

Just about every Tuesday, I serve my family tacos.
They love these tacos. I adapted the recipe from my
mom's house cleaner who was a part of our lives for
as long as I can remember. Her name was Cammie
and she made the best tacos and hot sauce.
Cammie's Tacos
1 lb. ground beef
(I like my beef fatty, for the flavor, but if you don't care about
flavor, use the lean kind)
2 tablespoons of chili powder
course salt
ground pepper
garlic salt or powder
(whatever you have on hand)
In a large skillet,
throw in some course salt and brown the ground beef.
I like to use a spatula and break up the
ground beef so there are no large chunks.
When the meat is almost brown,
add the chili powder, pepper, and garlic salt.
Turn the heat to low.
Heat another pan with corn oil on high.
(don't leave the kitchen after this step,
or you will come back to a house full of smoke)
Fry the corn tortillas in the hot oil.
(I buy the cheap ones at my local grocery store.
They are thin and not to thick)
Cut up iceberg lettuce in small thin strips
and assemble your tacos. We add grated cheese to the tops
and my husband's homemade hotsauce. My sister-in-law who is the
best cook this side of the Mississippi, likes to put her taco
meat in the uncooked corn tortilla and cook the tacos on a griddle with
very littl oil and no chili powder.
I like them cooked both ways.
I LOVE mexican food. Anytime, Anywhere.
Ole,
Petie
