Hurry up Fall...

I love this entry way with the autumn branches and the wooden bench.
Fall is my favorite season.
So why do I live in Arizona where we have no Fall?
Probably,
because I love the Great State of Arizona...
and well,
my family is all here...
and
I love them too!

In my next life,
I will live somewhere where the leaves change colors.
For now,
I will be happy to live near family and to be living in a great State...

Two weeks of Parties

Its a good thing I don't drink.
I have been to three parties in the last two weeks.
If I had been the drinking kind,
I would have been stuck in bed,
hung over,
feeding my children Cheerios from a box.
Oh wait,
my only child left at home is 15.

She is still asking me,

What's for breakfast?
What's for lunch?
What's for dinner?

and if I had been drinking,
my answer would have been, Cheerios.

What is it with children and meals?

We will call this, the "SWEET" baby shower Party.

We used  Martha Stewart party supplies.

and all the sweets were made by the hostesses,
 CARAMEL popcorn, peach CUPCAKES,
chocolate DIPPED pretzel sticks, SUGAR cookies,
RED velvet CAKE,
and CANDY in jars.

I changed the color of the ELEPHANT to red.
A much better choice than the orange.

I didn't get any pictures of the next party we went too,
My nephew's COLLEGE graduation party.
It was held at a local FAVORITE restaurant.
I miss their TACOS.
We don't frequent this place very often, due to the fact that
our OLD Business partners who RIPPED us off,
can you say "WHITE COLLAR CRIME?"
LIVE THERE.
When I was going through the paperwork to prove their "THIEVERY",
there was charge after charge on the credit card bill to this place.
and to think I was at home,
feeding my family CHEERIOS.
Oh well,
LIFE goes ON.

Next up,
my MOTHER'S 80th birthday party.

My sister got this idea off of Pinterest.
We made copies of pictures of my Mom from the time she was little to now.
It was a lot of fun getting these pictures together
and going over to my sister's house to put them together to form the 80.
After going through all the pictures,
I've decided that I have,
ONE HOT MOM.

WOW!
and that is after SIX children.
We must have been really good CHILDREN...

A picture with two of her grandchildren.

It was a great NIGHT with family and friends,
CHINESE food, balloons, misters, and
tres LECHE cake, as requested by her and a CHAMPAGNE toast.
A BIG thank you to my sister for hosting this party.

Up to my Elbows in...

Blue Elephants

Lots and lots of blue ELEPHANTS.
This picture makes me smile.
I love the little elephants with their legs in the air.

I bought a bunch of these elephants at Michael's
in the dollar section.
We are having a BABY shower this weekend
and the theme is, can you guess?
ELEPHANTS

and this ORANGE one will be the
CAKE topper.
I found him at an Estate sale for a dollar.
I am undecided about the orange.
I might change my mind and paint him RED.

The Padre Hotel

This hotel is located in Bakersfield, California.

I was fascinated with all the details that went into
designing this hotel when they renovated it.

Bakersfield is full of oil fields, hence the reference to the oil rig on the wall paper.
For some reason, it reminded me of the movie, "There will be Blood".

I thought this little detail was clever.

We saw a lot of these hanging on the doors.

This is what greeted us when we stepped off the elevator
to our room.  Each floor has a different mural.

Clever room markers.

This is the reason we saw so many "Whoa" signs on the doors.
The beds were dreamy.
You didn't want to leave them.
Except to take a shower in the walk in shower/steam room.

Another wall mural in the lobby.

Eat.Sleep.Drink
is the corporation that renovated this hotel.
They also have hotels that they have renovated in San Diego.
I will definitely be staying there when I am in that area.

I could go on and on about this hotel.
My weekend was delightful.
Thank you Padre Hotel.
