Wallpaper Love...

After growing up in the era of the 60s, 70s,  and 80s, when 

everyone was plastering their walls with wallpaper,

I swore I would never put that stuff on my walls.

That was before I saw these rooms.

I love the above walls with their whimsical wallpaper.

And I am really liking this pink and white wall for

my bedroom and bathroom.

I am so all over the place with styles.

But I love this...

A trip to the Ocean...

I love this picture my husband took of the garden.

I love all the colors that he captured in the Mission's garden.

This Mission was amazing.

The Mass was beautiful.

If you get  a chance to go to San Luis Obispo,

don't miss seeing this Mission.

And definitely,

go to Mass.

You don't want to miss it.

We just happened to be there the day they were celebrating 

a Saint from Portugal.

The parade was straight out of the movie "The Godfather".

The men dressed in black suits carrying the statue of Mary.

The woman, girls and children all dressed up in 

elaborate gowns.

I am so glad I was there to see it.

The buildings were built in 1793.

The roses in the garden were amazing.

Morro Bay,

where we ate some great fish outside, overlooking the Bay.

The temperature was 62 degrees.

Burrrrr.

Pure Bliss

Yesterday,

I sent a text to my hubby,

Tomorrow. 28 years of mostly fun.

In case you forgot.

He sent me a text,

I remember 28 years of pure bliss.

I am one lucky girl!

Sew Sew Crafty

I will just preface this post with,

I do not sew!

I have not touched a sewing machine for 35 years.

After taking Home Ec

( Not sure of the spelling of Home Ec, either is spell check.  

It wants to replace it with Homer?????)

in 7th grade,

I decided that I disliked sewing and the teacher.

But because of blogging, and all these wonderful bloggers

making incredible things and posting that they do not know how to sew,

I decided to give it a try.

Also, I needed two tablecloths to fit my 12 foot tables

 that my Dad gave to me. He had an old sheepherder

 make them for his sheep camp so that all of the herders

 could fit around the tables to eat their meals.

For the material, I used old vintage tablecloths that I have been

collecting for years.  Most of them are stained and have holes

in them, so it didn't bother me to cut them up.

I also added a ruffle to the tablecloths and I was definitely

flying by the seat of my pants on that one, because I

did not have a clue how to do it.

   

I really like my pillow that I did in the first few pictures.

For the pillow,I used another old tablecloth and an 

old western shirt that belonged to my husband. 

 I really like the way it turned out.  

A garland I made using an old white sheet.

I made it long enough to wrap around our back porch.

I am really excited about my new adventure,

SEWING

I have a million ideas.

So I better get busy.

My Buddhist Corner and a Dirty Window

I think all I am missing is a burning cigarette.

Oh, and maybe some fruit or a donut.

Explaining the Buddhist corner:

Just to clarify,
I am not Buddhist. 
 I have nothing against the Buddhist people, its just not my thing.
I was making fun of my little window sill.
Whenever you visit the nail places they always have a 
ceramic Buddhist with a burning cigarette, fruit, and a donut.
I do not know why.
It was my attempt at being humorous and making fun of myself.
I could not throw away the little yellow can and so I thought I would put some daisies
in it from our garden.  I picked the last of our beets and these were
to small to cook, so I put them in the bottles.
And what can I say about Mary, 
I have lots of stories about Mary in my life,
but that is for another post.
I love looking at my Buddhist corner when I am doing my dishes.
